migration flows in Latin America.
Abstract. The purpose of this article is to shed light on the various types of problems migrants face as a result of their transnational migration experience, which transpires in the shadows of the law. It examines this phenomenon from the point of view of the South-South Cooperation as a tool to improve policy affecting migration patterns and flows. Here, the southern border of Mexico is treated as an international stage for irregular migration flows, where the structural causes that motivate this phenomenon and the dangers that derive from these displacements are analyzed. This is done all while maintaining a focus on human rights and on the importance of South-South Cooperation as an efficient tool for developing integral policy affecting these migrant flows.
